Felix Tijerina - Wikipedia

Felix Tijerina Elementary School proudly began serving the Central Park community in southeast Houston in the fall of 1979. Conveniently located near the intersection of Harrisburg Boulevard and Wayside Drive, the school is named in honor of Felix Tijerina—a distinguished restaurateur and civic leader. Tijerina is best known for founding the “Little School of the 400,” a pioneering program that helped Spanish-speaking children acquire English language skills, laying the foundation for future bilingual education initiatives.
